LS Turbo Integras in CO need info?
I have a 95 LS that I would like to turbo. Whats the deal with emissions here? Do they hassle you at the eye inspection? Oh yeah I live in Littleton. I wna to use either the Drag 3 turbo kit or Rev Hard. Or should I get the greddy for the emissions legal part? i'd rather not use greddy but i nned to here your stories about trying to pass. Thanks.
There's no difference in turbo kits when passing emissions. If you throw one on, you're going to have problems. I dont know how the laws are in Colorado, but, you should try to find somebody who works at the emissions place. That's the only way I'm going to pass here in Wisconsin.
Im in Colorado Springs, GSR Turbo. I got my Emissions test the day before I had my turbo put on. That gives me 2 years of 'immunity'. I dont know of anyone that has even attempted an emmisions test with a turbo Honda/Acura. The general consensus is to just get it tested before you put it on.

There is a difference. the Greddy kit is CARB E.O. D-397-7 which means it doesnt affect emissions and is legal. I am planning on getting a turbo kit here in MD and decided to go with the Greddy because it is all legal. Of course I want an intercooler which will have to come off before emissions.

Where exactly are you in Littleton? I'm kinda in the area of southwest plaza, well a little west of there actually.
The emissions tests here are not comparable to the CARB tests over in Cali. With that said, you can pass with a turbo setup, but you have to make sure it's running correctly is all.
Just make sure all the emissions hardware is still in place, and run the lowest amount of boost possible.
The Denver county is pretty leanient on emissions tests, and if everything is in place and working correctly, you shouldn't have any problems...

Finally its nice to talk with someone in my neck of the woods. I live at Dry Creek and University. Anyway I am new to turbo's but i understand how they work. I would go custom but I don't know what works with what. Is it all compatible and you just choose what you want? So I see a well tuned turbo will pass here in littleton. I did not know if it would work, so I was going to go greddy but not anymore. I am buying a new 03 Hemi Ram (345HP and 375lbs) so I will be building this LS up slowly, but I do need to learn alot more about what works anyway. Thanks for your help. Dan
Why do want to take the intercooler off before emissions? Is it not carb legal?

Having an intercooler or any other modification to the kit (including adding a BOV) will nullify the CARB status. I am planning on getting the kit and adding a BOV, IC, and Hondata and just take those off every two years for emissions here in MD..

What?
There is a difference between "emissions" and "CARB". I don't know the exact specifics for your county/state but if it's just "emissions", they don't give a **** whether or not you have any extra add on's, as long as it passes the tail pipe sniffer.
Highly reccommend the greddy kit. A couple of months ago I was in the same boat u are in now. Everyone but a few people were telling me not to get the greddy kit. Think about how long greddy has been around for....They do not make junk... Anyway if u are looking for an emissions legal kit and still want to make good power, go with this kit. Fitment and quality is near perfect. My first time at the track with my car(99ls), I ran a 14.4 @ 99.8 mph with a shitty 2.5 60ft on street tires. Not to mention this is with my timing 3 degrees retarded, stock cat, and stock exhaust. The car is very fun to drive
The "C" in CARB is California, not Colorado. I agree, if you pass the tailpipe sniffer test then you should be good to go.

I know that CARB is a CA thing but it also means it is 50 states legal I think. I mean anything legal on the street in CA has to be legal everywhere else right? My problem is in MD we have emissions and a visual inspection. Of course on OBDII they just plug into your ECU and look for codes but I think if I do any mods to the Greddy kit I will fail the visual inspection. With any other turbo I would fail the visual but with the Greddy kit I can just say f-k um.

In Colorado, we have no Visual inspection. Well they do look to see if the emissions hardware is still in-place, but they don't care what other crap you have installed.
For SpoonFed95...
I still think the best option for you is the Rev Hard kit. It will make the best most reliable power out of any of the kit's on the market at a comparable price. In Colorado, it won't matter if it's "CARB" legal or not. It's all about the tail pipe snuffer.
