Default Timing belt question,

I just today had a new timing belt installed on my 1990 honda accord, the engine has 170k on it and this is the first time its been replaced, now when i went to pick up the car the engines idle is really f***d up, like the whole block is shaking, what could possible be wrong, and what cani do to fix the problem?

It is possible that the balance shaft belt is not properly set up.

It could also be that your timing is off by one or more teeth on the pulley.

definitely sounds like wherever you took your car to get a new timing belt on it did not do the job properly. You could always take it back there and be like "look biatches...." and get them to fix ur junk. My brother-in-law did mine on a '96 cpe and its fine. i think its been about 20k since he did it. of course he knew what the **** he was doing. He also had to get a special tool to get this bolt off. Sorry I can't spout all the names of the parts..

It is possible that the balance shaft belt is not properly set up.
This is probably NOT the problem. You will notice vibration in the engine if this is not timed proerly ... BUT ... that vibration will happen in the 2500 RPM range ... NOT at idle.

It is possible that the main belt is off ... but I would think it would have to be off more then 1 tooth to cause vibrations like you are talking about.

Kind of hard to diagnose something like this without actually doing a hands on examination of the engine.

could be as simple as one of your cycliders missing. check your ignition system connections.
