Same here. Took a little while, but it's an easy job. Just make sure to wear your safety glasses!

I guess Ill be going that route. I'll just have to buy the drill bits.

Use carbide bits to cut the metal. Eastwood Corp. out of PA makes a porting kit. It has everything you'll need to do this. http://www.eastwoodco.com/aspfiles/D...g+%26+Grinding

Aww hell no Im not throwing $50 at this. I was planning $10 most for a couple bits. If I have to, I'll just not port it at all.

50$ is not bad if you can get the best performance out of your engine using the right manifold. just to be on the "safe" side, just expend the money and get the job done... if not check with one of your friends see if they got the tools!

If you're a true mechanic or someone that loves working on cars, tools are worth every penny. You never know when you'll ever need those tools again.

If you're a true mechanic....
Im not even close. Just a 17 yr old high school kid that wants to start somewhere with his car. I do love working on it though.

I may go buy an air grinder seeing this is the 2nd time I've needed one in the last 2-3 months. Im gonna try for the bits first though.

Also I dont care about porting it cuz its still just my stock a6 manifold.. if I was putting on a DC header I'd put my effort into it.

I ended up payin $6.44 for a grinding bit and 6 peices of sandpaper or whatever went around the bit at Walmart. Got 3 of the ports ported.. gonna go back tomorrow and pay another $3 for another 6 peices and get the last port and smooth out all the rest. I just used an old drill my dad had layin around. Looks like I got it done for under $10.

Is it bad to have a bump in the **** I smoothed out? Im gonna smooth it out more tomorrow but just wanna see what you guys think.

Bump shouldn't affect it to much, but why half *** a job that you've spent so much time on already? Smooth that baby out!
