Question on valve cover removal and replacement.
I want to remove the cover so I can check my timing belt. Do I need to replace any gaskets when I go back to install the cover? I have the Helms manual, but it doesn't say anything. I just don't want to ruin something and not be able to get to a dealer on the weekend. Thanks.
as long as the gaskets look good when u take them off u dont have to change them... u should put some silicone (such as honda-bond) on the corners of the gakset though to prevent any oil from seeping through though... other than that u should be all good...
personnally... i have the honda-bond... and my valve cover has come off many times... i havent used it yet... and nothing has leaked... but thats just my experience... i guess u dont NEED it... but i would highly suggest it

Just to piggyback off vertius' post, how do you get the valve cover off?
I tried to take mine off and it was a bit stuck. So being the genius that I am, I stuck a screw driver and gently pried the cover up. Well after I was done either I had punctured the gasket or I pinched it putting the valve cover back on b/c the gasket leaked. Some honda-bond fixed that, but I have a new one to put on and don't want to damage a second gasket.
I was thinking of tapping the side of the cover with a piece of wood and a hammer....
Thanks!

u should be able to just pry it up with your hands alone... iv never had a problem with it being too stuck... if i did run into one stuck... id try to hit the front and back of it and try to get some movement... hopefully ull get some play and be able to take it off
If you take a look at this link you can see how to take off the valve cover:
