crank oil seals - did i do this right?
i changed the oil seals on my d16z6 and wanted to double check to make sure i did ot correctly. i don't want these things popping out on the road.
1.front seal - pulled it out, wiped the bore in the block clean, greased inside of the oil seal, drove in the new seal using the old seal. the helms said to not grease where the seal meets the block, but the seal went in pretty hard. it looks like it's almost not it quite as far as the old seal was, it may stick out .5 mm past the block, but it's definitely not going in further.
2.rear seal - pulled the rear cover off and punched out old seal. i installed the new seal by carefully taping it in using a punch and hammer, working my way around the seal. at first i tapped it too far back, so i pushed it out a bit and it went back and forth for a while until it was even all the way around the seal and within spec (between .2mm and .8mm clearance between back of seal and cover).
i want to make sure that i won't have a problem with these seals accidently popping out or something else bad happening. is any horzontal force really applied on these seals anyway?

sounds like you did it just right. To press on cam/crank seals I use a large socket that fits right near the edge of the lip of the seal, so I dont bend it. No grease on the outside, and all the new Honda seals come with a little dab of grease on the part that touches the rotating part.
