Default welding bov to AEM cai? Using it as my intake charge pipe, been cut for bypass valve

Even though I cut the cai for the bypass valve can I still weld a BOV flange to it and use it as my IC pipe.

sell it for $100, and use that money to buy regular piping

... Im' not sure I understand.. You mean like this?

Like how I have my BOV on my AEM intake? Look under my intake.. I mounted it it upside down or it would have hit my strut bar.

Just trying ot make sure i know what you mean.

Schweet..... I was thinking about doing that too... How did you get it welded on ? Since the AEM is aluminum... did you need to get it tig welded ?

I'll be the first to reply that I had to go to a specialty welding shop to get my aluminum Greddy flange welded on my AEM. Make sure if your gonna do it on your AEM pipe that you get an aluminum BOV flange or else their going to tell you that you cant weld aluminum to steel.

OH..btw, I would get rid of the bypass valve once you go turbo. You can find some way to rig it to make it fit if you want to save some cash. If not, you can always buy drag piping for like 400 bux or something of that sort. Either way, piping is gonna blow off at 15psi...

i used my CAI for my bov, and it had a bypass on it.

i used a pipe coupling to seal off where the bypass was, and then had my BOV welded on...

I think I'm gonna use my aem cai and just use some couplings where it was cut for the bypass valve. And buy a aluminum flange for the greddy type S.

My friend is a mechanic at Ford and knew this guy name Chuck Watson of Waston Engineering in Taylor Michigan. Very big place, no public work. They only do work for componies liek Ford and special division like the SVT people. But.. I got the hookup and he did it for me for free.
