i'm with you. there is a search button and this subject has got to be one of the most discussed. you will have no problem finding that everyone with a brain would use the b16 or gsr and everyone that doesn't know what they are talking about or has never experienced all three will say LS. you figure it out.

I am with both of you.

Damn jinx, I have seen you answer this question about a million times already. You've got some patience. I think you should type it one more time for everyone to see and then we could have someone archive this. It could be like a test question to get into the FI forum.

Got my JDM S1 with same gearing as an ITR but with a 4.40 FD instead of 4.785(or whatever the ITR is...too lazy to reference it ). Anyway, short gearing is sick on turbo cars, though at times you find yourself wanted to grab 6th gear on the highway when 145 is not enough..hehe

Here's my answer.

It's personal preference.

I can't stand to drive a car with ***** to pull itself around at 5k rpm in 5th gear on the interstate during normal commuting. Therefore I got an LS tranny. being able to NEVER max out 5th gear <202 MPH?!> helps, but I like it. Even on my 'torqueless' b16a, it pulls around nicely, and I don't have to downshift out of 5th to get around and out of the way with a quickness.

For strictly drag racing, the key is max out 4th gear at the top end of the track. Whatever tranny does this for you on the slicks you plan on using, is YOUR answer. That would be WAY different for an LS with a 6 psi drag kit, and JinxProof99's drag car.

Get it yet?

Your speaking to the wrong person, I am fully aware of which tranny I would use. Or maybe you accidently responed to my post. Anyway, your right. My personal preference is si tranny/ls fifth. I just don't want to think I'll be left behind on the highway

I'm sorry to confuse you on that!

Like most people on here do, I'm sure, I jsut click the lowest "reply" button to post. I am completly oblivious to the names in the parenthesis, unless I mean to specifically flame someone...

The "Get it yet" I posted was to mean in general, to everyone reading, "THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED, THIS IS HOW IT WORKS, LIVE LONG AND PROSPER."
