Default quick Q about header install...

I have a dc sports 4-2-1 2piece header that I might try to put on over the weekend. My question is can I reuse the gasket between the engine block and header? My car is a 94 RS, and it is probably original gasket. Thx in advance

That gasket tends to be ok to reuse, but personally while I was at it I would just replace it. Its much easier to replace it since you are removing the header anyways, than having to replace it later because its leaking.

I would just replace it since it's a 9yr old gasket. Shouldn't be more than a couple bucks. Besides wouldn't it be a pain in the *** if the old gasket happens to leak. Then you have to take the header off again and get a new gasket to replace the old one which you should have done in the first place.

just remember to go back through and re-tighten the bolts again. That will make the seal perfect with a new gasket. I installed mine about one month ago and it took about 2 hours. Good luck

Start in the middle and work your way out one side at a time. Left, Right, left, right, etc. to the outside. I don't remember the ft/lbs on it it though. Thats how I have done the last 3 that I installed. And I have had no problems at all.

seeing that its a 94 and you have the header apart anyway.. you might as well go ahead and put in a new gasket.. it doesn't cost that much and its much easier to put in a new gasket than to put in your header only to discover a leak.. then have to take it apart and do it all over again... just get a new gasket and save yourself some time and worries...
