Default How to replace rotors?

Hey everyone, well..I just have a couple quick questions i was hoping you could answer. I need to replace one of my rotors on my 94 accord DX. The cheapest place i could find to get it done was for about 86 dollars...one side. I was wondering..if it would be better to just try to do it myself? how hard is it to do..and what tool would i need to do it? If you could answer asap i'd appreciate it, cuz i need to do it like today..or schedule an appointment fast. thanks!

i dont trust shops, but thats just me. i say do as muich as you can (seperate ball joints, disconnect brake lines, take calipers off) then take the hub to a machine shop, or somwhere you trust that has a press, and have them take it off. places that do brake jobs dont care about your car.

The price don't seem to bad, depending on what they're doing. You can get a pair of front Brembo blank rotors shipped to you from Colletti Motorsports for $73, I just got mine about a week ago. I'm doing mine right now and it's a pain, only because one of my bolts got rounded and my axle nut don't want to come off. If it wasn't for the axle nut it wouldn't be so bad, the rounded bolt I'm having a guy at work drill it out for me so it's not that bad. Also are you having the wheel bearing replaced? Those run about $38 ea at HondaAutomotiveParts.com. Those you have to have the old ones pressed off and the new ones pessed on. So if you don't have access to a press you have to pay for that. I agree with ratherbewalking, do as much you can yourself.

same here..i dont trust any shops for that matter..I dont know how often brakes should be replaced..but I've had to replace them about once a year..i know i'm not being THAT rough on them. I'm thinking it has something to do with the shops I've been taking it to. So..what tools do i need to do what you just described? , and do you have any recomendations as to where i could go to get them pressed out as you said? thanks!

do a search for V6 or Legend brake swap. there's a whole lot of how to's with pictures and all that good stuff. they may be different parts but the process is the same.
