Your first swap?
i did my first swap with my uncle, hes one of dem fancy certified honda mechanics. I did most of the work though, he just chilled and told me what i missed or did wrong. I also used my manual. I enjoyed it
my frist swap was by myself....
was a d series.... ended even using DPFI in a SOHC VTEC.... was ****..... was by myself, no friends, help or anything. was cold,... frustating.... but with a liul research and motivation i managed to get everything going on the right way.
i enjoyed it and learned a lot.... inspired me to do many more....

My first "swap" was a ZC DOHC into my '88 DX Hatch done alone. I did alot of research and asked many questions before I started. Including the DPFI to MPFI it took about 12 hours total, but I was extra careful when I did not understand someting I would ask before perceeding. Yes it was slow the first time, I started on Friday night and by late Saturday evening it drove away. This has to rank up there with what I consider a personal achievement. Do your homework first and it will be fairly painless. Dive in without a plan and it will be painful and frustrating. Good Luck. What motor into what car?
first swap was b16a1 into 89 civic si. went great. spent the money on the hasport vtec subharness(waste of money) had it done in a day. had the common o2 sensor switched problem.. other than that it was perfect.
second swap b16a1 in 91 std. went pretty good.. no problems.
3rd swap. can't give the details but it went so smooth..

My first swap was a ZC into a 90si... I picked up the motor for $252 bucks..
Me and a good buddy who knew nothing about working on cars did it... I had never seen a swap or anything close to it. burned an ECU the second day...
great fun..

Mine was a first gen B16 into a 89 std hatch. It was a bitch getting all the parts. I needed more parts than the usual swap since it was a std model. My brother, a honda technician that we knew and his friend helped a little but me and my dad did 75% of the swap. We worked long and hard cuz my dad is such a perfectionist and it was our first time. My dad is a miricle worker. He also did my suspension, system, and more.

My 1st swap was the DOHC ZC into an 89 CRX Si. I drove it for about a year then swapped the same engien to a 1990 STD Civic. This was a MPFI swap. I learned a lot of useful information from this swap. Right now I'm trading in the DOHC ZC for a B16A into the 1990 hatch. The ZC was an awsome engine. I can't complain about it at all. In fact I've beaten Audi TT's (180hp) at the track. But B series power here I come!

My first swap was my b16a into my si rex. I had a honda tech guiding me. I did nearley all the work, he just did the finess stuff. I am currently in the middle of a swap on my hatch now. I am putting the si rex engine in it, the old hatch engine used a qt of oil per 100 miles. Ryan
1st swap: DOHC ZC into my 89 dx hatch. took a day to do the complete swap with me and 2 freinds but ended up with problem in the motor. started it and it dropped the #2 vavle in the #2 cylinder and cracked the valve guide in three spots
OUCH. so got that fixed and then found out the top main journal bearing for the same #2 cylinder was cracked in half and the rest of the bearings were paper thin and ready to break in to 2 pieces also. got the ZC from NIPPON MOTORS. GGGGRRRRRRRR. so $2200 later the motor ran fine.
2nd swap: pulled the ZC and swaped in a b16a1 went pretty smooth until the test drive. NO VTEC. found out the head was bad.
3rd. swap
ut the ZC into a 90 rex. ran perfect.
4th swap: b16a1 into a 91 integra ls. swap took a day but the parts took forever to get here. kept gettin sent the wrong parts but now the car runs fine
5th swap: pulled the ZC outta the rex and put in my buddies 91 civic hatch. runs fine
6th swap: buddie blew his 92 GS-r with a 75 shot of nos, so we pulled the motor adn had it rebuilt and then swaped it back in. motor ran but didnt have vtec (bad speedo cable) then the car got totaled
7th swap: brother got a 92 civic hatch adn blew the motor with a 75 shot. so we pulled the blown motor and droped a d16z6 with greddy turbo kit and fmic. tree fell on the car and totaled it. so then came the new car, a 94 civic hatch, pulled the stock motor and droped the d16z6 in it and then he dynoed it at 5 psi. pulled 164.9 whp and 141.8 ft-lb. nice numbers. then the hondata s200 was added last week and dynoed again and the numbers r off the hook, 197.4 whp and 201.1 ft-lb. with the boost jumpin between 9 and 11.5 psi. keep in mind that this is a SOHC VTEC.
thats all the swaps for now, most likely gonna be doin more soon

My first swap was b18c into my crx hf.. I did it pretty much alone. I had some people try to help, but they mostly got in my way, or side tracked me with things like beer and more beer.
It was pretty easy though, even though a lot of people tried to tell me it would be to hard. Proved them wrong when she turned right over

1st swap had 2 friends of mine do most of the work but they couldnt get it running and i didnt know much about it so i took the motor out and put it back in and took my time and did it the right way and rewired everything all by myself and now it is running smooth as hell...im very happy i took the motor out and went back and did it myself...only help i had was friends helped me lift from the fenders because i dropped the motor out and in through the bottom.
a mini-me swap. i dont know if everyone here would call it a swap because the block stays in, but it is as complex (or simple) as an entire engine swap.
