Default OK, B18C Transmission Removal. Simple question.

OK. Its official. Swaping an engine is easier than removing and installing a transmission. lol.

Damn this thing is being a bitch.

Ok, well, Ive got everything out and unbolted and the transmission is basically hanging there being slightly supported by jacks etc.

Theres a shaft looking thing that extends the driverside cv axle to the transmission. I didnt remove it when I pulled out the axels. Now, when I look under there, It appears that the extender thing has come out about 3 inches from the transmission. What should I do? Beat it out? Push it in?

I figured the transmission would lower and the extension thing would clear everything.

TIA!

i think your talking about the intermediate shaft, being held onto the back of the engine by 3 bolts?

So you have to take the INT shaft out first before the tranny will separate from the block?Im about to do the same thing, what should i look forward too?Ohh yea i sold my head so its just the short block and tranny so i can see everthing.

yea i find tranny swaps more annoying than engine swaps too. just cuz you take off almost all the mounts, and then gotta work this thing loose horizontally before you can take it out. then they like to hide all the bolts all over the place. i think i really hated putting it back in rather than taking it out. its not hard, just tedious. good luck

steve no problem, ive pulled too many transmissions in the past 6 months so i can do it with my eyes closed now and the fluid dosent come out when you pull the axles only when you tilt or remove the transmission

J2turbo21 you dont HAVE to remove it, but it makes it 100x easier, the int shaft will hold the transmission vertical, without it you can rotate and work the transmission loose.

Ok if someone were looking to do a swap of both the trans and motor would it be smart to reinstall the motor with the trans already attached or install individually?
