Default aftermarket muflers

I've fitted a K&N filter pod in my 92 lude VTEC which was good and now wondering how much power an aftermarket mufler will give? or do I need to replace the whole exhaust as Im not looking to spend too much money.

just a muffler will hardly give you any power, id just save up and do the whole thing.

muffler wont give anything.

think if your intake, header, catalytic converter and exhaust like a straw.

pinch the straw and it limits airflow right? the smallest part of the 4 listed above do the same thing, it will limit airflow. so get a full catback or just leave it stock.

I kinda did think of it that way and thought the stock mufler would be the most restricting of the three thats left.

A muffle itself will only give you about .2 wHP. If you want any significant gain, then go with a full system (Intake, header, catback), or at the very least, get a full catback.

I always here from customers and friends that a full catback actually does make a difference when driving.

it may make a slight increase in throttle response, but in reality you need teh intake, header, cat & exhaust for any of it to net much benefit.
