Default ****Extrude Hone***

well I'd like to know more about this process and how benifical/cost effective it can be. I was thinking about getting my intake manifold "extrude honed" for better flow characteristics in the higher rpm range.

*is it worth it
*which is better extrude hone or porting your manifold?
*has anyone done it? give me your experince?

Extrude honing is done by pushing an abrasive "goo" through the part at pressure. It's pretty expensive from what I understand. I just hand-ported mine.

some companies wil do a port job by hand and then a light extrude hone to remove turbulent areas and any burs in the head. I think he's right though, it is pretty expensive.

That process for porting isn't worth it, for removing the rough spots as mentioned above it is ok. Get a real port and polish on it. That shouldn't be more than 250. If you would consider spending 500 for porting a stock intake you should just get an aftermarket one. Mike

what are your mods?

there are a lot of other things that I am guessing you can do.

so a search, because someone had their itr intake manifold dynoed with befofe/after extrude hone

they didnt get that much power.

you can definetly find more power in other areas
