Ive got a 90 integra GS and was recently clipped in the rear bumper drivers side corner. The damage was minimal, however the actuall metal support hanging off the solid rear bumper frame was damaged beyond repair , so i cleanly ripped it off and will be installing a fiberglass bumper soon but need to know if this piece has to be welded back on, or is the solid bumper support piece removable and obtainable from a junkyard? ive put it on a lift and cant seem to locate any bolts holding it together ... any help is appreciated... TIA..

 

well usuallly on most cars its a bolt on affair.. so i would go see about replacing it.. the fiberglass bumper cover will do nothing for you in a collision, and sure others may argue that the steel bumper won't due much either, but better than nothing in my opinion. I know that my g3 front bumper support was bolted on, but haven't ever taken off my rear bumper yet.. so dunno for sure.
