Is this mod even worth doing? I was planning on going with a b18c1, but i figure it would be a little cheaper, with the the sex appeal of the pssst sound to turbo a sohc. I currently have a dx hatch.

 

all i can say is read the sig and do a search...plenty of guys on here can spank a gsr hatch or whatever its going in all day....with a greddy turbo and a d16z6 at 7 psi....and for the price of a gsr swap with install u can have a pretty built sohc running 10 psi with afc hack...just to get u thinking thats all...sohc turbo will be faster until u throw alot of money into a gsr to make it faster...its just that for under 3000 bucks u can have a motor with more WHP then a type r and way more tq too....

plus ig you ever blow the motor youalways got almost an unlimited cheap replacement...unlike trying to find a GSR motor at the junkyard

 

my thots exactly...500 a pop for a jdm d15b vtec...ill never go dohc vtec unless i win the lotto lol...honestly i would only buy one super fast sports car and keep my civic and spank it...

 

d16z6 and y8 turbos are great . For the money you can't beat it

 

I ran a GSR monday night in my EX turbo. Even with spinning like a bitch off the line due to poor camber, I still caught him and beat him. He wasn't happy. Boost the SOHC. Just remember, if you do ever run a b series turbo, they will wipe their *** with you.

 

Hehe...that damn camber problem, but putting down twice the torque it did from the factory usually doesn't help traction problems much either!

 

Thats true in most cases. It's all in how much money you have, how much you want to spend and how fast you want to go

97 ex w/drag kit 14.53 (both could have been better, poor track conditions)
Both cost around $4000 (to do right) after everything is said and done
Plus you get to brag that your "wimpy" little D-series wooped that ***.

i actually can beat ppl with dohc turbo to about 3rd but thats where they come and pass me by....its that at about 8 psi for them they have little traction just spins 2nd....but yes they do have more potential then our little D's but they paid more for it....afc hack is almost here and will have dyno's up....
