Default Gapping spark plug help

I bought one of those big round spark plug gapper to gap the spark plugs I plan on changing. My question is, do I just force the spark gapper inbetween the fire tip of the plug and just move in until it's in proper range? Like force the movement until it's within gap specify range?

Yes, or at least that’s what I did. But be careful not to force it to hard or the electrode will break. Hope this helps.

you have the flat disc-shaped gapper, correct? i don't trust the accuracy of those things. Better to get a wire-type gapper like in the pic or use a feeler gauge like the kinds you use for valve adjustments. Personally i use a flathead screwdriver and carefully pry it open and then gently push down on the electrode against the table 'til it's the proper gap.

My wire-type gapper has little black flat things sticking out with notches in them. You put the notch around the outer terminal like shown in the pic, and bend it just slightly. Then you check it with the proper size wire loop. I use the .050" wire on mine.
