Default Audiobahn AWP312x

I've got one of these layin around in my garage.

Now my question is...how good (at least decent I hope?) is it for SQ?

I've already done the whole DB thing, and now I'm going more for SQ...if I can use this Audiobahn, I will since it will obviously be free.

Pros, cons?

My amp will only push 300RMS...will this be enough to keep the 312 happy?

They're not the best, but not the worst. I'm sure that they'll sound pretty damn good with a decent box.

They are very good sounding woofers. They do need more than 300w tho IMO. I would use atleast 500w, you would be seriously underdriving the woofer, you would lose alot of low end extension and obviously spl with that little power. But the awp312x use a flat cone for sq purposes, it creates fewer standing waves in a vented enclosure (which these woofers are optimized for). I would do around 3.0-4.0 cubic feet with 25-50 inches of vent, tuned to around 33-35 hz. I love those woofers. But yea good luck

so should I not use this in a sealed enclosure?

That's what I was planning on building....if it's gotta be vented, I'll say bye-bye to the Audiobahn.

Go sealed, your SQ will be fine. You might be lacking in SPL possibly, but not much.
Go for a larger sealed box, if you can. What size did you have in mind?

I can get about 2.0cubic feet out of the box I'm making.

Could you recommend a size if that's not a good choice?

That should work fine, just don't expect to break any SPL records. I'm sure it will sound fine off of 300w though. I've heard decent setups powered by 100watts.

Ah, that's cool.

Like I said, I've done the SPL thing already...kind of annoyed me. Just TOO much bass!

I just want something to add some umph
