Default Best turbo kit for an ITR and applications

Hey guys, i need some advice on a turbo kit for my 2001 ITR. I know the compression is high, and i know most people prefer a N/A Type R; however, i need more speed, and i feel turbo is the only way to go! Anyway, does anyone have any advice on which turbo kit i should look into..Also, if i don't lower the compression, how many pounds should i run to keep my motor safe. Hope you guys can help..Oh, and if i do lower the compression, what should i lower it too, and whats the best way to lower it.( head gaskets?? ) I know im asking a lot, but everyone here seems to know a lot about ITRs...Thanks

DRAG kit is one of the better, if not the best one out. On stock internals you can run 7 psi, ive heard of 8 as well. but to be safe just keep it a 5psi, so when it spikes it keeps you in the higher psi, around 7. just watch out for creep. to lower the compression go with forged pistons 9.0:1. you will also need connecting rods, fuel (440cc injectors, intank fuel pump, maybe even an AEM EMS, or somekind of piggy back, like a VAFC or a greddy emanage). theres alot of topics on this try and search for more info good luck.

So if im keeping the stock internals keep it at 5 psi because of the boost spike which brings it up to 7, right? Also, will it still be a reliable daily driver if i add the dragger turbo kit?? I intend on keeping this my daily driver..i can't stand driving a beater or anything slower...hehe

yeah custom is also an option if you have time to look for the best deals. but if you want everything to just be a kit, DRAG and greddy have the kits. i would def. go with the drag over the greddy. you wont spike as much in hotter weather, its the cold that you have to be careful about, also give your car enough time to warm up before you hit boost or vtec. just some extra thoughts.

Yeah, i just did a search and more of the people recommend the drag turbo kit. I'm really not the kind of person to find the best deals around..I want to find a kit that comes with everything so it wont be a hassle to install...Also, i am goin to need some kind of fuel management. Any ideas?

I am looking at the drag kit..and these other mods..3" downpipe, 3" straight pipe, 3" apexi n1 exhaust or Thermal ( haven't decided yet )..new fuel pump, apexi v-afc, boost gauge, air/fuel gauge, pyrometer gauge, greddy turbo timer, and all sorts of other goodies. I can't wait

low boost = drag/revhard
high boost = custom

dont bother with half of that crap.
you should get:

2.5" exhaust
2.5" cat
engine management
injectors
turbo timer
boost controller(if you are gonna want to raise boost)
