Default green wire in distributor?

Well I don't have access to any repair manuals at the moment, but I was just talking to my friend over the phone about his engine swap (the D16Y8 into his 95 DX coupe). I was told he can use his D15 distributor to simplify wiring, since we're also using the D15 engine harness (pretty much converting the engine to OBD1). Well his D15 distributor was a little a hacked because he had MSD 6AL ignition and Blaster 3 coil on the D15, and the original internal coil was long since removed.

So he was telling me about it and said there was one green wire that he couldn't remember what it was for. Anybody have any ideas? TIA
