question about ACT clutch
i have ACT heavy duty on my car for 1100 miles, and it started making a werid sound, it sounds like tires spin which is the giiiii sound, and it only happens when i let go the clutch slowly with higher rpm, but everything else feels fine and it can still grab well. Anyone have any idea wat's wrong with it?? or it just happens to all ACTs ??
Read it and weep y0

The noise your reffering to is normal with that type of clutch. All ceramic metallic clucth disc's will make that sound. If you rev it more and engage it quicker it goes away. Also you'll notice that the clutch actually grabs better and gets quieter as it getes hotter. It's one of the trade offs you have to make for running such an aggressive disc don't expect to much life out of it either. Don't get me wrong great piece just designed for 300-400hp cars and strp use. If used on the street well it'll have it's compromises. must be fun though you can chirp just about any gear if you want to. One question does the disc have a sprung hub I ask because if it doesn't well your synchro's, gears, axles everything for that matter will be taking a beating just giving you a heads up(vtec.dc2). Oh last thing I mentioned all this because I have 13years exp. as and acura tech and have seen all kinds of stuff and complaints I hope I was able to answer yours. HTH
