Default quick question about jl's

alrite... i'm currently running a speaker i got from a friend. i opened it up and saw that it was a JL12w4 - 4. is this a good speaker? should i trade my friend these 2 - 10w0's i have sitting in my room for them? i never ran 10s before so i dunno how they would sound. btw i'm runnin the old RF 200x2 amp (think 100watts each channel)

please give me some advice! i'm kinda new to all the technical terms on car audio so bear with me here

Look at jl's discontinued manuals to find the specs. Generally speaking the W0 series is great for low wattage applications. My friend has two 10W0's with about 75W a piece running them and they hit alright. I'm not sure what the wattage requirement of the 12W4 is. Just decide what is best for your application.

i must say, ive heard many bad things about w0's, they are waaaaaay back in terms of technology and ive heard of people using a $50 no-name ghetto bass sub and improving sq and spl after switching, i dunno...
the othet jl's rock but i think we are too far to settle for w0's
(not starting anything just saying...)

I run 3 JL 10W0 subs and they sound awesome! Smooth and clean... now they just need some more power to be a bit louder.

ok. i jus installed them this past weekend and they sound good. i might need a bit more power or just tune the amp a lil more. but they sound much cleaner than the W4 i had in there. another ?....do i have to port the box? will it sound better that way?
