Has anyone heard this muffler in person? Quality? My friend is selling it and I can work out a good deal if I want....

Jeez--I haven't seen one of those in years. Didn't even know they were still in production. I wonder if that's a case of their site in need of an update.

Regardless, it looks a lot like the World Sport (also by a'pex), which is a very quiet setup. With a name like Super Megaphone, it might be louder than the WS. Quality-wise, it probably has aluminized piping, which rusts out in around 4 years, depending on road salt in you area. The canister should be pretty good overall. A'pex makes some nice stuff.

[edit]I see you're buying it from a friend used. Make sure the thing isn't complete crap. What's your friend say about the sound???

I have one (Apexi Dunk super megaphone) for a 96-00 hatch brand new, if your interested. I bought it and never put it on because I sold that car.

 

That muffler is huge! They had a few at the Apex garage sale that they were blowing out. If it's the same muffler, it looks just like a WS but it's straight thru with ~ 3" inlet/outlet. If you're friend got it at the garage sale, he got it really, really cheap.

 

Well my friend got it from a lady at church for free... He gave me a couple of pictures and the hangers and welds look rusty... I guess it wouldn't be bad for temporary use if I get an awesome deal.. It is just the muffler and no piping... How much do you think is reasonable?

 

I had a dunk megaphone and liked it. If you can get it cheap. Why not?
