Default Hytech Header

would the hytech header make the life of my motor die fast, or not last as long?

was wondering this because someone told me that the exhaust valves start to burn? i couldnt quit get what he was saying but i think thats what he said and not to get the header but i think hes just making me lagg on getting it

you look like a dog and talk like one too

i think your friend is talking about reduced backpressure. exhaust valves will only burn if the car is running too lean - proper tuning will prevent this. whenever you put on a new exhaust system - care must be taken to make sure the car is still tuned properly.

Now that's an interesting theory...I wonder where he came up with it.

well.. hytech is one of the best i can think of, and if u want your car last long, all OEM parts will be the best. but still.. tunning is the point.

i think your friend is bsing u , i would get it if i have the money

i have the money just enogh for the header but i wanted the exhaust system also.
my friend said get the header then get a resonator and then just mandro bend it to the side and little down so its not going to have a muffler just pipe but not long. just header then resonator and then little piping and then mandro bend it.
i dont know about that but i want the whole exhaust that hytech has he said everything with cat and muffler 2100 and i only have 1400
dont know if i should wait to get it all or get the header and work something out?

Any 2.5" pipe will perform the same as long as it's mandrel bent and has no bottlenecks or anything else obstructing flow. Getting the HyTech exhaust is just nice because it's twin-loop, full stainless, TIG welded, and I think lighter in weight so it's quality stuff. But performance-wise, 2.5" is 2.5" so whatever sticker you want to slap on it won't make a difference on the dyno.

I'm taking a wild guess in saying that probably would be loud.

Maybe you shouldn't follow your friend's advice.

Headers can really lean the car out. That's what happened when I had the jdm R header on my Si. It failed emissions with a high NO level (twice the limit) which indicates high combustion chamber temps which is in turn caused by a lean condition. I added ~12% of fuel with my VAFC from 0-4000rpm (test range) and the NO level went from 1220ppm to 194ppm. So a header that has very good scavenging characteristics could cause very lean conditions and burn valves if the fuel remains untuned.

I had a muffler shop make me a 2.5" pipe from the cat to the muffler and it made the muffler sound like a coffee can. I bought a Type-R B-pipe and removed the bottle neck and then installed it. The car sounds stock and makes decent power; the resonator on the stock b-pipe makes a world of difference when it comes to noise levels.

wow, I thought Hondas fuelmap is always very rich when stock so a header itself couldn`t cause something dangerous... But wouldn`t I notice high knock rate before a valve gets burned ???

Take all the money you have and go take a grammar/spelling class.

Mandro bent?

I had to read every sentence twice to understand!

Figure out what YOU want, why should we (or your friend) spoon feed you information.

My car ran pretty rich before and after the header/exhaust system. My post VTEC fuel map needed to be leaned out. My partial throttle map is pretty rich too though, I'd like to get that tuned at some point.
