It may look similar but they are different. If you tried taking an LS intake arm and placing it on a type R throttle body, it wouldn't fit.

LS breaths underhood air. Type-R breathes from the fenderwell.

Plus the LS intake arm has a snorkle.

Tubing is different as stated above. The ITR is 3" while the LS is less.

Clearly they wouldn't be the same becuase the type R is the best integra ever and all type R parts are superior!!!

ha ha ha

TB size is different between the two cars, and the resonator and air filter draw air from different locations.

JN who had to answer the question after being a smartass.

They are different.
ITR is larger diameter near the TB.
The difference is not too much.
You can fit the ITR on the LS, however
the LS will not fit the itr beacuse the TB is slightly larger.
The itr has a better resonator as well as cold air location.

Besides the piping diameter differences, heres a look at the Type-R intake as compared to all other Gen3 Integra Intake's and resonator boxes:

Yes it will. Also the AEM ITR piping is much larger, i would use that over the LS.

why would it be beneficial to have the larger piping on an LS? is the LS motor capable of pulling in more air than the LS AEM CAI will allow? will the ITR AEM CAI actually make a difference over the LS AEM CAI?

I don't know enough about thermal dynamics to answer your question, however if you plan on doing future upgrades that need more air flow, it can't hurt IMO.
