valve adjustments
i've heard tegs are notorious for valve clicking, and i just noticed mine doing it, is it worth the money to have them readjusted? or will they just go out of spec again right away? besides the noise are there any bad/negative problems from this?
using valvoline dino, it's at about 85k...
well valve adjustments should be performed after
a certain mileage
whats your mileage and what kind of oil are you using..

oil and it's viscosity have nothing to do w/ when to adjust valves. (It may have some effect on ticking noise, but thats cosmetic)
Valve adjustments need to be done EVERY 30K and they are really easy on b18b and you need a snap on tool for VTEC tegs.
Get a Helms and do it yourself- it is EZ. (Dealers want ~100, helms is 70)
Edit- you'll see an increase in MPG and performance as well after doing them, and the noise will go away.

You shouldn't go by any specific intervals when doing a valve adjustment. If you hear them ticking, you need one...if there's no ticking, no need. You'll need an adjustment more often if you linger in the higher RPM range often. I do mine anywhere from every 10k to 20k miles depending on how I drive.
Learn to do it yourself and you'll save lots of money. It's easy with the right tools.
If you need to pay someone to adjust them for you, go ahead. If you want to adjust them less often, simply stay away from the higher RPM range.
