do i need to retard my timing for a 50 or a 75 shot? how dangerous is it to the engine? how long will my engine last with only weekend shots? should i get to make it the safest it can be? any information on nos in a civic.

depends on how your motor is. i wouldnt run anything higher than a 50 shot. i don't think you'll be needing to retard your timing for that, but its possible. you need to provide way more info., such as: mileage, motor, weekend shots?

p.s. nitrous is dangerous to your engine if you're asking these questions.

Your asking some pretty basic nitrous questions here.

I would suggest doing some reading before you consider putting it on your car.
There is tons of nitrous info on this site and on the internet.

Do some research.

i have been running a 50 shot now for about 2.2 bottles (22lbs) and my engine seems just as strong. i would reccomend getting plugs(one step colder) maybe wires if they are old, and always run 91 when your going to spray, and never spray below 2,500rpm(thats what i was told and follow). BOLD

depends on if you are running dry or wet, if running dry NOT NOT run more than 50 shot if wet i think it will be ok to go 75, you will need to tune it though.

2 degrees retarted timing, 2 degree colder plugs and run 91 octane .. you'll be fine up to about a 60-65 shot depending on the motor ..any higher of a jet and you'll just want to retard your timing more. NOS says 2 degree per every 50 shot. if you keep it a safe jet say 50-60 you can squezze as much as was you want .. just take really good care of your plugs because after nitrous they tend to foul quickly and if you squeeze on a fouled plug then motor go boom.

It depends what system you've got.
NX is the best om the market and their nitroussystems are made for original cars. You don't have to change anything!
We sell many NX nitroussystems a week here in Sweden....and Norway....and Finland

like they said.,
get colder plugs, retard ur timing about 2 deg and i say get a fuel pressure regulator and bumpthe pressure baout 3-4 mora pSI.. that way u are sure u get enought fuel when u spray....
and as for experience with my cousins car when i was with him... just spray 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, dont do 4th and 5th..... gets to heavy on engine and u might overheat it and bend valves like we did.. and we had a modded D16A6..... with only 40 shot.... and alway spray no lower than 3k rpms with WOT......
