Default Challenges of turboing an OBDII integra?

What are the challenges of turboing an OBDII integra? My 95 GSR was stolen so now I have to start over. I have been looking for a good 94-95 GSR but have not had much luck so far. I have found a ton of 96-up but they are all OBDII's.

So my question is should I just keep looking for a 94-95 or just give up and get a 96-up GSR?? I know that OBDII's can be a pain in the *** sometimes so basically I want to find out if I have to go 96-up what kind of issues should I anticipate?

This is the new century where ob1 or 2 doesnt really matter anymore. I have obd2 and Ive been fine.

obdII in tx is great thing they dont even do sniffer emmision on the obd II stuff just hook it to your ecu to check for codes.

obdII with no codes!! well ... except for the occasional 71-74 misfire. no real challenges unless you want to run 20+psi.

My car will not see 20psi!! It's a real nice thought but knowing the way I drive I can honestly say I would never "really" need that much. This time around I will be using a hondata instead of a VAFC but I can't imagine that the car would ever see anything over 1 bar. In fact I think 10-12 psi is more realistic.

The concerns that I am having about the OBDII ecu is I keep hearing stories about CEL codes popping up all the time and all those damn emission sensors. How much of this is true and how much is just misinformation I don't know. But now that I think about it I really should re-phrase my question...

Since I plan to use a hondata this time are there any issues I should anticipate with an OBDII car? I'm assuming that I will have to do an ecu swap to make it work correct, and if that's the case do I have anything to worry about at all?

hondata recently came out with OBD1 chipped P28 ECU with OBD2 connectors on the ECU. NO CONVERSION HARNESS. They make the whole conversion a snap.

obd2 is only an issue with hondata because you have to purchase all the riggin to make it work...you can always use the apexi power fc or the ems....they'll all end up being the same price across the board....almost

Damn you Texas guys

Conversion to obd1 or having that secondary o2 sensor might be a problem. But if that p28 can hook up, that's great.

So what do guys with hondata's do when emission comes around on there obd2 cars with obd1 ecu's?

If your car is turbo'ed, bigger injectors, ..etc.etc. do you just have to revert your car back to stock in order to pass emissions?

Yup. Gotta put the stock ECU, header, etc.

well either way, if u want to pass legally you are gonna have to convert the car back to stock. obd1 or obd2. unless u want to run closed loop wastegate, route ur bov back into the intake, and run a cat it still won't pass a visual. Its very easy to get a sticker, and the paperwork to go along with it. You just have to know the right people. Jim, trust me, u know the right people

buy an aem and a wide band 02 like a U.E.G.O., universal exhaust gas oxygen sensor, 7 wire 02, you can get them from motec for like 200-300.
