Default what size T/B do you use for 550hp?

i would like to upgrade my throttle body. what size do you use for 500hp-580hp?

65mm will be fine assuming you have 2.5" piping. Bigger won't hurt but not necessary.

Can you a little deeper into the theory behind this? I heard something about large intake manifold plenums (Edelbrock, etc.) do better with smaller TBs (no idea what size that means) in a turbo setup. Any suggested brands? I seem to keep reading that every oversize TB sticks open or closed.

i plan to use 70mm for my turbo setup with 2.5" pipe. what do you think? does it too big or ok?

remember, the plate, even when open, is a restriction. go bigger than your piping.

My rule of thumb is to match the pipe size for a little restriction and turbulance. We made in excess of 620whp with the 2.5"/65mm set-up. I don't thing a larger tb will hurt anything
