What is needed for build on b16 to run high boost on Full-Race setup?
Wuz up ya'll, i've decided to go with a b16 swap for my 94 coupe after gettin a second job. I figured since i plan on runnin the full-race turbo kit, i'd get the engine fully built before they drop the engine in my car. What i need to know is what all am i gonna need to buy cuz i wanna get my parts online and jus pay the shop for labor. Shops here are way overpriced imo. Basically i want my engine bullet proof and want to be able to run about 10lbs or so daily, and 20+( or however much is physically possible w/o causin serious damage) when i'm in the heat of battle. Also i was considering running a lil shot( 45-55shot) of nos later on down the line, but as i said before, i want to get everything done to the motor in advance. Money is basically no object here(basically, not literally) now so i want the best i can get. I really don't wanna spend anymore than 3-4 grand on the build altogether tho if that helps. Please help me out and gimme the list with some good places to find deals on the merch, thanks alot. (by the way i did a search on this and found nothing, so no harshness please, i tried.)

i don't mean to burst ur bubble, but if u plan on running 20 + psi, ur gonna need a lot more than just motor work. You don't really need to do anything to the head to save money, springs and retainers if u wanna. The block will need to be sleeved, with forged pistons and rods with about 9:1 compression ratio. You area also gonna need a clutch setup, fuel system, and limited slip diff. will be necessary, i don't know how much of that stuff u already hav, but it all adds up in a hurry. Im lookin at doin about the exact same setup as us same kit and boost, and im lookin at atleast 8-9 grand doin it right, i wanna run high-mid 11's in a full interior 2000 si. That is as much help as i can give u tho...if ur not doin the work urself, its gonna be big bucks
Anyways, your gonna need pistons(je, wiseco, ross, etc.), rods(eagle/crower), fuel management and tuning(hondata, aem, speedpro, haltec, etc). People have run 20+psi on stock sleeves safely...tuning is the key.Block wouldnt have to necessarily have to be sleeved

yea u can run it safely for a while, but after a period of time its gonna be rebuild time again. So better off to go the cheaper poute in the longrun and sleeve it while motor is already out....imo...especially if he puts the shot on it.

Thanks for the info ya'll. I knew i would need a buttload of stuff outside of the motor, i just wanted to get what i needed down to the motor while it was out. So after building with all the things listed, i'm gonna need to rebuild after a period of time? How far away would this be and what can help prevent this kinda wear if anything. Between the build, the turbo setup, clutch and everything minus the lsd, i'm gonna be on a budget of about 8-9, about the same as showsi2. The only reason i am lookin at this type of setup is cuz seems like everyone is sayin the full-race is top of the line. I am lookin to hit somewhere in the 11's. If anyone has any better suggestions for a setup, please critique me. Thanx again for the help. (So basically all your sayin for the engine build is that i need pistons and rods aside from fuel management and good tuning?)

if ur gonna do rods and pistons i'd do the sleeves, cuz it won't be much more. If you hav 8-9 g for all that u'll be fine i thought u had 3-4 g, my bad i prob read wrong somewhere. But im serious, i've been around imports for a while and i am good friends with one of the most reputable engine builders in cali, wont mention names just b/c hes got a few secrets that only a few peops know. But please save ur self money now and sleeve it so u don't hav to take it appart later. My builder runs a 12.4 in a 92 hatch full interior....not much huh....but he runs all factory honda parts. Internals and all, just mix and match parts from motors. Hes one hella smart guy. If you don't sleeve it you will be sorry somewhere in the long run, even if it holds 20 psi, ur gonna want to run more sometime in the long run and if u woulda sleeved it you coulda pushed 22-24...u get what im sayin

I getcha man. So rods, pistons, and sleeves and i should be straight as far as the engine? Sounds simple enough. Thanx for the info man.
