Around 500?!!! (rough estimate) for an obd1 car!!?!? For an obd2 car, add in 200 for an obd1 ecu, and 250 for an obd2 to obd1 harness!!?!!

Hondata route is much more expensive. However, I think its worth it since not 1 chip is designed for your specific car.

Hondata s100 = 245

P28 ecu = ~130 + however much its gonna cost to Hondata Modify it (which is basically buying a chipped ecu to begin with)

Obd2-Obd1 Harness = Around 170

Tuning = This is probably gonna kill you the most. Depending on your tuner, expect to pay around ~100 per hour.

its 180 an hour at DSR... that's where I am goin to get my car tuned. Best Tuner in Norcal IMO.

I guess I'll hold off on the ECU upgrade till later. Costs way too much for my budget.

I highly recommend you get a chip with your cams. Chipped ecus are often overlooked and shouldn't be. You're running different internals, and so your stock fuel and ignition timing maps and a/f ratio should be altered to maximize power with your cams. Not to mention, you should be running a higher redline because you are making power past 8100. Running a higher redline will separate you from the average gsr on the road. You said in one of your other posts that you were gonna tune your car soon anyways, so might as well tune it with a chipped ecu. Well thats just my opinion. If you get a chip later, you're gonna have to pay again for tuning. Just be patient

Well... I have to get Valvesprings, Ti-Retainers, JDM 4-1 Header, 2.5 inch Carsound Cat., and the p28 chipped ECU all installed before I dyno tune it.

That's my next project.

But for now, I just gotta get my Skunk2 Intake Manifold, ITR AEM CAI, and the Cams and Cam gears in and Tuned so I can ride around.

Hey Skunk2nr, if you have the skunk2 manifold are you still running the stock GSR throttle body? If you are, get rid of it and find a 62mm or bigger, big difference when I did that, I didn't feel any difference in the manifold until I got my Type-R throttle body, just a little FYI.
Also don't mess around with those chip programs, go Hondata, you will not regret it.
