Default Mugen S1 owners

For those of you with S1 seats, when running the stock seat belts do the thigh bolsters push the belt away from your body a lot? Do you think it effects safety a lot? Thanks

Yes it moves the belt away, but how much depends on how fat you are.

As long as the belt mechanism locks, and it will, you should be pretty safe. However, I think a harness is idal assuming you have sufficient roll-over protection.

If the belt is away from your body at all in a hard impact there is the chance of you sliding under the belt and getting hung my the shoulder belt or worse.

I would worry about it on the track or on the highway. Physics does some crazy stuff with the human body in accidents.

If the belt is against you like if you were sitting in your stock seat you are fine.

I too release myself from all liability associated with the comments made above.

Put the stock lap belt through the slots if you're going to use a stock belt.

undo the lower bolt holding the seatbelt to the chasis, then thread the whole belt through the slot on the left thigh support and reattach the bolt. then you will be able to get solid contact with your body and the lap belt, to buckle it put the male seatbelt buckle through the right side bolster hole and click into the stock seatbelt buckle... assuming the mugen brackets have a place for it, i dont have the s1, i have the recaro spg, i did it this way untill i got a rollbar and harness and it worked great.

by writing this disclaimer i am not liable if you hurt yourself by attempting to do this mod either.
