need help installing shift light on 89 crx
anybody know how to wire this kinda of shift light http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6763 to a 89 crx????????????????
it should be just the same as wiring any other shift light/tach to a car. there should be 4 wires, red, white, black, and green. red=power, black=ground, white=backlight, green=tach wire. you can either run the tach wire through the fire wall to the dizzy where there is i think a blue wire with a white stripe, tap into that, and hook up power ground and backlight and you are done, or else you can tap the tach wire in behind your gauge cluster where that same blue with white stripe wire should be.
hope that helps!!
hope that helps!!
red wire goes to a power source, black wire to a ground, yellow wire will go to a light source for the backlight (usually headlight fuse) and green wire to the tach wire.
ground you can put anywhere just make sure its a solid ground, power i usually go off the windshield wiper fuse because its a constant power while the car is on or you can go off the battery but then it will cause a drain on the battery. yellow wire should go to a light source (i.e. headlights is a good one) and then the tach wire, you should be good to go just mount up and bam you got your tach and light!!
edit: happy 400th post for me, now its time for bed!!
