Okay, I just installed another D16A6 in my 90 hatch and went to start it up and it idled at 4k and would not go down.I have a TPS sensor from an HF on there an an alternator off of a D16Z6, and a PG7 ecu from a 89 integra.I adjusted the screw on the TB and it did nothing then I unhooked the valve on the back of the IM and it went down to around 1500 and started surging and threw a CEL.I didn't really do anything major to the motor before install: cap and rotor,valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, alternator belt.could it be my timing?Ihave never messed with the distributor except cap and rotor so I don't know if timing is an issue or not.I didn't have a lot of time for a thorough check because it got cold and dark.Any suggestions would be helpful.TIA

vaccum leak perhaps?

 

the throttle cable could be too tight; try backing it off a bit

 

actually I took the throttle cable all the way off and started it and it still stayed up in the 4k range

 

check the vaccum lines and double check the tps. how's the dizzy timing? advanced or retarded any?

Check the FITV, underneath the TB, and the IAC.. my bet its the FITV.. thats what it was for my b16a1..
