Default Clutch question

Will a bad clutch make it hard to put the car into different gears?
I have a hard time changing gears at high rpms, low rpms are a lil easier.

A bad clutch would make you rev higher than normal. Such as 30mph at 6k rpm. Its probaly your syncros that are messed up.

If the clutch is dragging it can make it harder to engage gears. Basically the clutch doesn't completely disengage.

It may if it's the throwout bearing failing and not a worn clutch disk.

if it was the throwout bearing you would hear a weird sound when engaging clutch

Usually yes and often a pulsating clutch pedal when pressed.

Ouch that was way harsh. That's the description of a worn out clutch disk.

Hey Fez have you checked/changed your MTF lately? Sometimes it does the trick. You get a little moisture or the fluid loses viscosity over time. I'd try that before I did anything major. How's the clutch pedal feel BTW? Spongy...normal...extra stiff...pulsation...etc?

yea, but H-T has gone downhill so fast in the past year from people like this. The misinformation that floats around here is so bad.

The clutch feels normal but it is hard to take out of gear at times. Seems like its not completely dis-engaging when pressed. I took it to acura yesterday and let a master tech drive it, he thinks the main problem is the clutch and suggested that I change it first. He also stated that if i wanted to rebuild it he'd do it for $300 + parts.
FYI
I changed the tranny fluid in 2001.

What clutch do you guys suggest?

I'm using the action segmented kevlar clutch. I'ts terrific and cheaper than most of the other performance clutches. You can contact Rocket on H-T or go to ef1.com to pick one up. Good luck w/ you car bro.

I changed the clutch and flushed the clutch system with new fluid, now the tranny shifts like new.
The problem was that one of the springs on the clutch came out of the housing and got wedged between the clucth plate and flywheel.

It's a common problem with all clutches when they're near the end of their life, the clutch disc comes apart. It's not Integra specific.
