oil return line is really close to downpipe...is it gonna be a problem?
i installed my turbo kit a few days ago but my return line is really close to my downpipe..like 2mm away from it. they are earl's performoflex lines that are stainless steel braided. do you think it is safe or will it melt the rubber inside?
whats up i have a DRAG gen 3 kit on a gsr, in a 93 hatch, my line was extremely close to the DP, actually it rests on it, it is a stainless steel wrapped high temp rubber line with an extreme fireproof, melt proof, Earls band i think, orange rubbery sheath, with a fiberglass innner, its weird i got it at an industrial hose cutting suplly place in NJ, but ive sen these coverings on many japanese magazine cars and full race cars in the us, ive had it on for a year now with no probs. i think it works best and even while the orange coating rests on the DP it doesnt score or burn it in any way, hardcore ****!!!!!!
cool, now that i look at it, the line is barely touching the downpipe. i wonder if the line i'm using is heat resistant enough to drive on it for a little bit. i'm probably gonna put some heat wrap on the downpipe. i hope it doesnt **** anything up tho.
the lines is pretty much heat resistant, but to be on the safe side, wrap a piece of rubber hose, cut open around it...as long as it's not touching, you'll be fine
