Default Stainless Steel Mesh Air Filters (Blitz SUS Style)

Just wondering if anyone has uncovered a cheap place to get quality Stainless Steel Mesh filters (Blitz SUS style). Also what are your guys views on this type of filter?? I noticed alot of UK and AUS performance enthusiasts seem to favor the stainless steel mesh element over foam and oiled cotton elements.

I have been searching around and uncovered a few places (ebay, lesser known online perfomance stores) that I would rather not deal with.

I dont like em unless you got a CAI. If its a short ram the SS gets realy hot, And a hot air filter just heats up the air inetering the engine. = Decreasing performance.

Not true! i had the blitz SuS filter on a short ram, and i too thought that it would heat up, but after some very hard runs i checked it (touch) and it was only mildly warm. i did have a cold air feed which possibly helped cooling but over all the filetr did not retain heat. I sold it in favour of a CAI with K&N filter. Its possibly just my imagination but i honestly believe that the short ram with the blitz filter performed better, for a start i now cant hear the vtec x-over at 4400rpm and the car doesnt seem to pull as strong in the lower rev range and there is no longer a kick when vtec cuts in, but i've been told that thats because the CAI gives more gains lower down so therefore the vtec x-over is now not as noticeable, but i'm yet to be convinced of it!

One thing about the Blitz is that the induction roar was unbelieveable
