Default throwing code 43

for the past month or so my check engine light has been getting a code 43. i took it to the one shop, and we narrowed it down to 2 things, one being my o2 sensor or my injectors. i just replaced my o2 sensor, and now, the check engine light is back on. wat else could it be? could it be a leak in a vacuum line, or something with my fuel system pressure?? anyone kno of anything else i can do??

A code 43 means: Fuel Supply System defective or malfunctioning fuel supply system. I don't know why they would have changed your O2 sensor the code for an O2 sensor is 01.

when we were figuring out what the problems could be, we noticed that when the check engine like was going on, my air/fuel guage would shut off. the mechanic told me that usually when that happens, its the o2 sensor and its just throwing a bad code.

Never heard of that before. Since it is a fuel problem I could see how that would turn off the Air/fuel gauge too but that's just my opinion. If I'm wrong can someone correct me or shed some light please.

i havn't checked the fuel pressure yet. the shop i ususally take it to is tellin me that is is almost for sure an injector problem and nothing else. wat would be the best way to find out if it is my injector, or if they are just sayin the wrong thing? i kno that it could also be a vacuum line or my fuel pressure regulator. i am just wondering if there is any other problems it could be, and the best way to fix it.

The first thing I check when I get a code 43 is if the fuel presure is within spec. If that's off and you keep trying to find another problem, your in for alot of fun.

It's easy to check injectors, especially if a cylinder has a dead miss. Just swap them around and see if the miss moves with it. If they are just partially clogged or leaking you can usually tell by looking at the spark plugs.
