O-ringed and 84.5mm pistons i need help???
Ok i got 83.5mm pistons in my gsr motor right now and its o-ringed.Im going to bore it to 84.5mm.So my question is when i bore it over 1mm what do i do with the o-ring.If you look at the pics, when i bore it over the piston might have a little gap between the top of the piston and sleeve when its at TDC.Im i wrong? What should i do?

why are you gonna bore it out??? how deep are the o ring lands? and what kinda comp are you running?
maybe have the lands welded/filled then machined, then reringed after

Yea I've heard of overboring OE gaskets and for the most part I think I would like that... I use an OE gasket any time I can... To me they just seem like they seal a lot better than aftermarket.. From the look of your motor and being o-ringed I assume that you are gonna be running high boost and for that I would go with a Cometic headgasket... That's the only time I will not run OE.... (o-ring+big bore+high boost) Why do you wanna go up to 84.5?? looks like you've got a pretty good high boost setup
As joshwhe said you could probably just go up to 84.50mm and then o-ring it again... Good Luck... Peace
