2000 Gs-r ECU Immobilizer????
What is this immobilizer feature, I work at Honda and have connection to local Acura Store before i go being a pain in the *** over there, can this 2k ecu be reset to work in a different car or...?? ANy help would be great thanks

There's a small chip inside each key. The ECU recognizes 'its own' keys, & won't start without them. There has to be a way of programming new keys to the ECU, but I don't know the details.
For our '01 Saab, you have to have all your keys together at once. Dealer plugs in a TECH-II computer, & tells it to recognize your keys. If you left one at home, it won't work any more. I suppose Hondas are roughly the same.

Can you post what you find out? I bought a junkyard OBD2 P72 and just found out about the immobilizer a few days ago.
So you probably ought to call your dealer for their answer.
Tech-II is kind of like the Honda PGM-FI tester thing... It reads OBD-2 codes just like the guy at AutoZoned, but it also programs all the other stuff in the car like how the locks work. Some independant mechanics have Tech-II devices, so its not exactly a dealer monopoly.
I've "heard" Locash can remove the immobilizer feature from these ECUs.
