Default Tial flange question.....

i just modded my manifold and drilled it for external wastegate, now i had 2 tial flanges, one for the mani and one for the dump tube.

i welded the one that has like a ring cutout to the manifold, i figured the ring part was for that washer that mates teh wg to the mani flange, or was that flange supposed to be for the dump tube?

does it really matter? this is a 35mmhxp, the leftover flange was the threaded one and i am beginning to think that i put the wrong one for the manifold. the manifold has like a 2" piece of piping then the wg flange so the wg is raised off of the manifold so i can use nuts on the end, thanks, later
