Me and my dad where talking and cant i just change the vavle cover? saying Vtec on it?


i got a 1994 Vtec but i wasnt shur i boght a vtec and i dont even know what kind it is can you help me find out?

 

check the engine code on the stamp

LMAO. the valve cover doesnt tell you if you have VTEC or not.

Check your engine code and look that up. Then you will know.

 

check on the engine head....
behind the head, near the distribuitor..... near the cyl #4 inlet of the intake manifold..... there should be a thingy looking like a lol can...a cylinder shaped solenoid.... if u have it u got VTEC..... if its not there u dont have it

but as far as just the solenoid.. thats it also but on a DOHC VTEC engine

 

haha sorry to laugh but you can't just look for the vtec for it to be vtec. check the engine code and u'll know and just by changing the valve cover with one that reads "vtec" doesn't mean you have it

 

hahahaha sorry to laugh at u but you cant just look for the engine code to find if u have VTEC..... theres a shitload of people out there with Mini-me's, LS/VTEC and CR-VTEC.. they have non VTEC blocks and VTEC heads/.....
the sure way its to find the holy solenoid.......
