Just a quick question, what is used to bend roll bar tubing? I once tried a tube bender but it just made crush bends, so is there anyhting that is reasonably priced to make the smooth bends? OR does everyone use a big mandrel benidng machine?

We use http://www.pro-tools.com/ stuff. Works very well. Expensive though. The one quoted above looks like it would still wrinkle. The stuff we do looks very close to mandrel quality. The software is nice as well.

 

A manual mandrel bender works well, with a nice LONG cheater bar. If I were doing a lot of volume, I'd bite the bullet and go hydraulic.

Roger Foo uses the JD Squared. I have seen it in action. Seems to work pretty well. To be honest, I don't have a lot of exposure to different brands. If I was in the market, that is the one I would buy.

I've got a JD2..... works like a charm. Get a notcher, while you're at it. You did your taxes already? Geez.... They don't NEED to be done for like, two months!!

I had them ship mine to just south of the border, I went to pick it up, and go through customs myself. Depends where you live though, for me it's a 1/2 hour drive.
