is a -4an line to big for oil feed???
I use -4 now, but im getting some oil past the seals. Just ordered the -3 feed kit from Arturbo...should be here any day now.

Honestly, I ended up buying -3AN line, but a guy that works at http://www.turbo-performance.com email'd me this in regards to his oil feed kit for $79, which is a great deal for everything you get.
"Kevin we use a -4an. if your worried about something with the -4 its more complicated than just the dia. of the oil feed line Im sure you have heard the 4 will blow out your seals. there is a long list of reasons that will blow that seal. also cars that use t-3 turbos-from the factory use a -4an there are two key reasons for blowing that seal.
1.poor placement or flow in return line
2.inferior internal compents inside turbo.(some rebuild kits are notorious for leaking)that is by internal part manufacturer= $500 hybrid turbo price would denote inferior components. Stick with the -4an and install return line properly to avoid blown oil seal. "

My friends and I use -4 oil feed and none of us have had any problems....but if you have a blown turbo then you will....
I always thought that if you used a -3 line the velocity of the oil would just be higher and if you used a -4 line it would move more slowly so I don't see the big deal....

No matter what size line your running, I would ALWAYS wait for the car to warm up, to let the oil pressure come down.
i been using -4 for years and years since probably 95 geez thats what drag was sending way back when in the orginal drag gen 1 kits..
Here's the deal..if you are using the Sunpro 1/8 BSPT to 1/8 NPT adapter, it basically acts as an oil restrictor because the inner hole is VERY small.
Other brand adapters, not sure.
If you get that Turbo Performance kit...just wait until the steel braid on the return gets all frayed because they used cheap clamps instead of hose ends. That stuff will tear you up when you try to take it off someday. If you're gonna use clamps, use regular rubber hose for God's sake!

what would you recoment then??? i dont want crap thats why im redoing my oild sending/return set up...i dont car how much it is i hate leaks!!!!
I use only -4 but -3 will work as well. Turbonetics recommends -4 or -3. You cant have too big of an oil inlet...You could stick a -10 on there with no problems, remember, it is a restricted pressurized inlet and it is psi not volume that is the issue. Psi will be the same no matter what size line within reason. The turbo bearing will only flow so much oil depending on the clearance...running a bigger oil line to it will not make it flow more oil or psi. Its just like having a bigger fuel rail, the injector will only flow so much...Or like having a bigger battery, the starter will only draw what it needs..
