Well, just wondering what most people do to keep it nice. The guy at the shop told me to wax it every week??? don't know but that seems like alot of waxing to me.

 

It has a clear coat on it. I wash mine and wax it only when I wax my car. Still looks like new.

 

yes when i bought both my CF hoods,.i had my paint guy put another coat of clear coat on it

 

I just wax is often

 

i used meguilars spray on wax about once a week

I was just wondering if you needed hood pins for the VIS OEM cf hoods or if the stock latch was strong enough?

do a search,..i posted my incident with my OLD VIS hood,...but i have heard that thier quality is much much better now,..alot of people are going pinless,..but im still scared so i have pins on my FI hood now,..if i get another hood it would probably be a new VIS or another FI

 

Heh i dont have hoodpins, the hood seems steady. I've gone up to 100 and it hasnt popped up on me, i would still recommend hoodpins though. The only reason i dont put them on is because i cant stand the fact of drilling a hole in my cf hood. heh

 

no they don't. They don't have a *real* clearcoat that has been sprayed on. (like the kind used on automotive applications)

Don't fool yourself into thinking they do, because I assure you they do not.

 

I wish I had a paint guy... maybe then my car would look pretty

PS How much is it to add another clear coat or something along those lines?

 

i did some motor work for him before,..he clear coated my hoods for free

 

i've only cleaned mine like twice ever since i had it. But i've only had it for a few months. I'm gonna be going back to stock hood soon tho...looks better imo. I'd paint the vis but that thing is still pretty heavy...so might as well try getting some money off it
