Hissing Gas Cap!
Do I have a snake in my gas tank?
Seriously though, yesterday when I pulled into my garage and turned off my car (1989 CRX HF w/ DOHC ZC) I heard a whining/hissing noise, it was coming from my gas cap. Not sure if it was sucking in air or leting out air (sucking in I think). I know the gas cap was on as tight as it goes.
Is this a problem?
Do I need a new gas cap?
Is this normal and I never realized it?
Should I just not worry about it?

i believe its normal...my old accord did it, my current crx, and my current gsr and my gf's del sol...and i think heard some wear that it should hiss on an empty tank...dont worry about it
The gas cap is faulty. If you have emissions inspections where you live, the cap gets tested to see if it holds pressure. Yours would fail. No immediate danger or problem right now if you just ignore it.

even if its not a "danger"...you never know what Could happen... that is unless you'd like your car to "accidentally" catch on fire.
