Theory on DSM inj. wiring
I see that in wiring the DSM injectors, most people are using a resistor pack or single 8 ohm resistors inline to the common power wire (yellow and black) on each injector. Some people confuse these wires for a common ground. The injectors are pulsed using switches, via ECU transistors, to ground. Those are the specific injector (colored) wires. I know on my 1999 Si that the same single common power wire (yellow and black) is right at my ECU harness. In theory, could I use just one single 8 ohm resistor inline to all of the injectors before the wire is split into four? Remember this is a theory...just need input as to why this may not be the correct route. Thank You.
too risky, when the injector duty rate becomes high, you could starve the injectors for power, ,causing your car to run lean. I got 4 inline resistros for $2, dont try to s ave $1.50 at the expensive of your engine.
think of it this way, u are cutting 8ohms and 10watts (i think its 10), before the initial split to 4. By the time it splits into 4, u have only cut ur resistance to 8/4 ohms for each injector and 10/4 watts for each injector
