Default tie-rod ends, standard or reverse thread?

I was trying to remove a little of the tire eating toe-out on my accord today, and the tie-rod nut would't come loose. Is the tie-rod standard or reverse threaded? I was also wondering approxomatly how much a full or half turn of the inner tie-rod would change the toe?

I would let a garage with the proper equipment take care of this for you. You could be sacrificing tire wear.

good luck,

I have never seen a reverse threaded tie rod on the 8 or so vehicles I have set toe on. It's standard thread. If you can't get the locknut loose, try soaking with PB Blaster or the equivalent overnight. If that doesn't take, go at the nut with a propane torch for 30 seconds or so. It will break loose. (CAUTION - be very careful with the propane torch!)

1 turn will probably change toe by about 1/8" at the rim. I measure toe with a good (ie non-flimsy) tape measure from tread to tread in front and in back. Just did this tonight on my wife's car. Measure 2x or 3x to be sure you aren't just measuring tread variation. Best you can hope for with this method is about 1/16" accuracy.

Good luck!
