Default Tips for Wire Removal (wiring harness)

God damn this is really starting to **** me off because this seems like a simple job and I cant get it done. I need to switch over my 02 wire to another harness (to the 10 plug harness)...

Well I can not remove the 02 wire (green/blue) from its orignal harness to move it over. I have tried a paperclip, some pliers, and a eyebrow plucker!! Can someone please give me hints on what to do, I am getting quite frustrated..

usually a paper clip does not work. you need something stiffer. like a straight pick a little larger than a dentist style one.
Put the pick in the larger hole next to the hole of wire you want to pull (where the pin on the other plug goes in) lever your pick thingy against the edge of the large hole so the tip pushes on the little catch. Don't stick it in more than about 2cm (how many times have you heard that, eh?) Also pull very lighty on the wire as you pry down on the catch.
It is really easy once you figure it out. It took me a while but now i can do them in a few seconds. the tool is important. peace

The pin remover, I doubt this would be any better. I have attempted this before and it is a b--- either way you go about it. I try to keep it neat for the most part, but sometimes I am just forced to take alternate routes and continue doing it as neatly as possibly. F-- trying to get the pins out. I don't know about the dental tool, I haven't tried it but I do know the metal end is rather thin, I attempted using a metal croqueting stick (knitting tool), sh-t wouldn't work. I said f-it and went on to splicing, soldering after getting everything wired then recovering the wires.

Good luck, like you, I pulled for hours with nothing to show for it. I have figured out how to, but now it doesn't seem worth all the trouble I have gone through to try and correct it.

Allen key , ask this and people will walk you to a allen wrench...I didn't know what it was at first either though.

I cut an extra plug in half to see how the catch works, how far in, and what side its on etc. I was so much easier after i knew what it looked like. helps if need to visualize it before doing it. kinda like doing snowboard tricks.visualize\ imagine the movements first and you will have much better luck.

btw. the set of 4 mechanics picks from Matco or snapon work awesome (the straight pick) it is tapered so the tip goes in just enough to engage the clip but not to far. it's slick

Just like a woman to tell a guy what to do.

Actually, those are not my hands, I had to make use of a how-to that I knew showed this tool in action.
