I just got a type r lip for my 93 hatch. My car is frost white and i wonder if it would look better if the lip was painted white to match the car or flat black. The stock sides, mirrors, moldings, and handles are painted white to match the car also. And i also have amber corners on. What color do yall think the lip should be?

 

if your car is white, and all your molding is white...why in the world would you want the lip black?

 

I think i agree, if everything else is color matched so should be the lip. My car has black moldings and side skirts so i painted my lip black and i think it looks good.

 

Hey I was wonderin if you could send some pics of how your car looks with the lip...I was thinkin bout gettin the same one....also, did it come white or black? if it came white and I just sprayed it I wonder how it would hold up against the paint chippin off and ****....thanks man

Do black... especially if you have the side skirts black, and mirror's black. Here's a picture of my wehicle.

I think as others have said, that if you have your sides painted to match the car then the front should be painted to match as well. But if you don't have the sideskirts painted to match and they are the stock black color, then there is nothing wrong with a black painted front and/or rear lip. I think Mantic's car looks really good with the black front lip cause it blends and matches the black sideskirts.

PS: Mantic, any pics of the rear lip like that and then a pic of whole car so we can see how the lines match up and what it all looks like. thanks, and from the front it looks really good.

 

Sorry to disapoint, but i never installed the rear lip. I sold it to a fellow H-ter a few months back. It wasn't compatible with my exhaust so i didn't feel like messing with it. I wish i can remember his name 'cause i want to see it on a car as well.

 

I think you should ask this in the appearance forum, because us back water EG tech people dont have much sense about whats purty.

paint it white, it will look much better if everything is matched.

 

Paint it once with silver and then tape screen on it so its real tight. then paint a layer of black....that way its carbon fiber. and c/f is jdm.

the type r lip looks okay. I think it sticks out too far. Looks alot better on integras...but those egs still looks good!
