help with GCs
I have Groundcontrols and they are relaly bugging the hell out of me. The ride isnt that bad really but the noise they are making it ridiculous! They squeek like crazy when i turn the wheel or when i am going over bumps. If you guys have any ideas let me know. Im trying to sell my 02 Si and i want to get this problem fixed before some people start looking at it, becuase other then that its a perfect car. Thanks guys!!!
people with GC's say that theyre pretty noisy, add some grease to the top of the spring. i forgot the exact fix but search here or http://www.ephatch.com im pretty sure its been covered and shud point you in the right direction. HTH
Thanks....
What about coils insulators......

Will this actually work?

No, it's not the coils. It's the sleeves rattling around and the spring when it comes unset.
For the EP3, GC's are a bad choice, as I have said many times before. I had a set, started to install them then noticed what would happen once I put them on. Massively reduced shock travel, no easy way to cure the noise, etc.
The only way to prevent noise is to take the coilovers off and install some rubber donuts in between the shock body and the sleeve. Also, you could try to ziptie the spring to the upper hats to keep it seated better.

I jacked my car up yesterday and check it out. Everyhting looks liek its installed right but what yous aid above is exactly wahts wrong. Im going to clean it all out becuase they are pretty dirty and put some crazy lube/grease in there and that should help drastically with the squeeks when the wheels is turned.
Also there was a zip tie that was holding somethign together but it loosened off and is just hanging around doing nothing now. So i am wondering if coil was zip tied to the top ring above the coils. If not you recommend zip tieing that?
Another question I have is about bumpstops. Does anyone have a pic of one its a little polyurethane bushing isnt it? I want to see if mine has been cut or left alone beucase i guess that can make a drastic difference. Thanks guys

which bumpstop are you talking about?? the front or the back??? i had the problem with noises from the front, and after i packed it well with grease, the noises went away. when i say packed it was really packed. it's a mess down there. how low do you have yours set??? when i first installed my coils i set them real low. the fronts would always pop out of place. i started setting them higher and it stopped popping out of place.
